The company on the paperwork

Find My Tracker is run by BH Commerce Ltd, a small company registered in England and Wales with its registered office in Manchester. The details underneath this page are the real ones, and they are there because we would want to see them ourselves before handing over a card number to a shop we had never heard of.

There is no call centre behind that address and no floor of people wearing headsets. The team is small enough that the person reading your message about a tag that will not chime is the same person who taped the box shut, which is either reassuring or alarming depending on how you feel about small shops. We think it is the former.

From a UK shelf to your hallway

Stock is imported in bulk, checked, and held here in the United Kingdom. Nothing is drop-shipped from an overseas warehouse on your behalf, which is why no customs charge can turn up on your doormat weeks after the order, and why nobody has to sign for something they thought they had already paid for.

Orders are made up by hand on that same shelf and handed over to Royal Mail. That is the whole journey: a parcel off a shelf in this country, through the post, onto the mat in your hall, where you can open it standing up with your coat still on. We do not make the hardware, it is manufactured abroad, like every tag of this kind, but the shop, the shelf and the packing table are here.

Apple’s network, and what that rules out

The Locata Tag does its finding through Apple’s own Find My network. That is the point of it: the range and the accuracy come from passing Apple devices reporting a tag they happen to walk past, and no small shop could build anything like that on its own. It is Apple’s network, though, and Apple decides who gets on it.

So the tag works with an iPhone or an iPad, and with nothing else. There is no Android app, there will not be one, and no clever workaround is waiting in a support article. If the phone in your pocket runs Android, this is not the tag for you and we would rather say so here than take your money and have you post it back.

Find My and AirTag are trademarks belonging to Apple Inc. Find My Tracker is an independent shop: no affiliation, no endorsement, no special relationship, just a tag that speaks the same language as the app already on your phone.

Getting it to you, and taking it back

We post quickly because we would want it posted quickly, and Royal Mail does the rest. The exact timings, how soon a box leaves us, how long it usually takes to reach a UK address, and how long you have to change your mind, are all set out on our shipping and returns page, where they can be kept accurate rather than buried in a paragraph like this.

The promise, in words rather than dates: UK delivery costs you nothing, whatever you order. If the tag is not what you hoped for, send it back within the window on that page and you get your money back, without having to explain yourself or invent a fault. We would rather have the tag returned than have it sulking in a drawer.

The inbox at the end of all this

Trust is built slowly and mostly by answering emails. Ours goes to a person, not a queue, and it is read on working days by somebody who knows what a Locata Tag is, what it will not do, and which side of the tag you hold down to pair it. You will not be given a ticket number or asked to rate the conversation.
