Find My Tracker
What people tag first
Start with whatever you would hate to lose on a Friday
Most people put the first tag on something that travels and the second on something that hides. Two in a box covers both.
- Hold luggage on holiday
- Pushchairs & changing bags
- School bags & PE kit
- Front-door keys
- Handbags & purses
- The dog’s harness
- Caravans & campervans
- Golf bags & sports kit
Why it turns up again
Somebody with an iPhone is always walking past
Your bag does not need you nearby to be found. The tag only has to come within Bluetooth range, up to 60 m in the open, of any Apple device, a stranger’s on the platform or a baggage handler’s in the hall, and its spot on your map moves. The 60 m is how far it will ring, not how far it can be followed.
Step 1: The tag says “I am here”
It sends out a small, steady Bluetooth signal, gentle enough that one coin cell lasts up to 2 years.
Step 2: A passing iPhone passes it on
Any Apple device within about 60 m in the open quietly sends the tag’s location to Apple, anonymous and encrypted on the way. Its owner is never told, never named and never has to do a thing.
Step 3: You see where it has got to
Open Find My and the bag shows where it was last spotted and when, whichever town or country it has wandered off to.

Where that matters on a trip
The suitcase that missed the connection
You land, your case does not, and you can tell the airline exactly which airport it is still sitting in.
The holdall left on the coach
The next passengers’ phones keep its dot fresh, so you know which depot to ring before the coach sets off again.
The rucksack at the festival
Thousands of phones in one field means it shows up wherever it was put down, even if that was the wrong tent.
It finds its way home on the same Apple Find My network as an AirTag, with the same passing Apple devices and the same map, for a fraction of the price. It is not an AirTag, just a tag that speaks the same language.
The map only updates when an Apple device passes within Bluetooth range, so a bag somewhere very quiet may sit still for a while, and making it ring needs your own iPhone within about 60 m. Apple, AirTag and Find My are trademarks of Apple Inc. Find My Tracker is an independent UK shop with no connection to Apple.
What you actually see
Your suitcase, on the Find My map
No separate dashboard to learn and no map you have never seen before. The Locata Tag appears in the Find My app you already have, one tap from a location and a button that makes it ring.

Everything you own, in one list
The tag is not hidden away in an app of its own. It sits next to your iPhone, your iPad and your AirPods, on the same map, under the same Apple Account.
Play Sound closes the last few metres
Up to 100 dB from as far as 60 m away. A map gets you to the right room; the chirp gets you to the right cushion.
Told you left it, not told you lost it
The alert arrives as you walk away, with the last confirmed spot already pinned, so it is a short walk back rather than a long afternoon.

What it does for you
Six reasons a Find My tag beats retracing your steps
Everything happens in the Find My app that came with your iPhone. Nothing else to download, nobody to sign up with, and no monthly bill waiting for you later.
On the map in the Find My app
Your tag sits in the Items list with the rest of your Apple things. Millions of passing Apple devices report where it is, anywhere in the world, at no cost to you.
A nudge before you get far
Leave the tagged bag on the train seat or by the front door and your iPhone tells you while you can still turn around, with the last place it saw the tag already on the map.
Make it ring from the next room
Tap Play Sound and the tag chirps at 80–100 dB from as far as 60 m away. Loud enough to hear through a sofa cushion or from the bottom of a holdall.
A safe way for a stranger to reach you
Mark a tag as lost and whoever picks the bag up can hold their phone to it and get a message to you through Apple Find My. They never see your phone number.
Two years, then a coin cell from the corner shop
Twist the back off, drop in a fresh CR2032, twist it shut. The tag carries on instead of going in the bin with its battery.
Rain, spills and puddles are fine
IP67 sealed, so a wet school run, a spilled bottle in a bag or a brief dunk will not finish it off. Dust-tight as well.

How it compares
Locata Tag next to an Apple AirTag
Both tags speak to the same Apple Find My network and both send the same left-behind alerts. What changes is the price on the shelf and whether you have to buy a key ring afterwards.

What buyers say
Six people who now know where their keys are
Real reviews of this exact tracker, printed the way they were written.
Seamless iPhone pairing
Bought it for my stroller for a Disney trip and it worked brilliantly. Pairing was fast and sharing the tag with my partner was as easy as an AirTag.
Anna M.Quoted from Amazon
Keeps them on track
Got these for a friend who always misplaces their keys. It has saved them so many times already.
Cameron H.Quoted from Amazon
Very good
Works exactly as expected. Set up in a minute and the ring is loud.
Tim R.Quoted from Amazon
Find the dog
Great value for a tag on our dog's collar. Locations so far have been spot on.
Sheila P.Quoted from Amazon
Gift for my daughter
My daughter has a chaotic house with five kids and a Great Dane. She says this actually finds her keys, unlike the last brand we tried.
Laura B.Quoted from Amazon
Great for the price
Two tags for less than half an AirTag. Battery swap is easy. Only wish it came in more colours.
Dan W.Quoted from Amazon
The score above is worked out from the reviews on this page alone: add up their stars, divide by how many there are, round to one decimal place. Nothing is weighted, nothing is left out for being unflattering, and no score is borrowed from anywhere else. Cards with the badge are quotes from this product’s Amazon listing, as published there on 11 September 2026.

Getting started
Three taps and it is done
The Locata Tag joins Apple Find My as an "Other Item", the same way Apple adds its own accessories. If you have ever paired a pair of headphones, you already know how this goes.
Step 1: Find the Items tab
Open Find My on your iPhone, tap Items along the bottom, and choose "Add Other Item".
Step 2: Hold the tag until it sings
Press and hold the front of the Locata Tag until you hear a chime, then call it something you will recognise later. Suitcase, Nursery bag, Spare keys.
Step 3: Clip it on and get on with your day
Thread the key ring through and that is that. From now on it is on the map, it can be made to ring, and it will speak up if you walk off without it.
You will need an iPhone or iPad on iOS 14.5 or later. There is no Android version, so please do not buy it for an Android phone.
Your questions
Things people ask us before they order
Ten honest answers, including the ones that might talk you out of buying.
Which phones can I use a Locata Tag with?
An iPhone or iPad running iOS 14.5 or later and signed in to iCloud. The tag registers in Apple Find My as an "Other Item", exactly the way Apple’s own accessories do. It will not pair with an Android phone at all, so please do not order it for one.
Is there an app to download or a monthly fee?
Neither. Everything happens in the Find My app that came with your iPhone, and finding your things through the Apple Find My network is free, there is no account to make, no trial and no subscription waiting a year down the line.
Can I pack one in my suitcase for a holiday?
Yes, and it is the most common reason people buy one. The Find My network works wherever passing Apple devices do, so a bag that ends up in the wrong city still reports back. Airlines are fine with these tags in hold luggage; the coin cell is well under the limits.
How do I know I have left something behind?
Turn on "Notify When Left Behind" in Find My and your iPhone alerts you as the tag drops out of range, with the last place it was seen pinned on the map. That usually means walking back a street, rather than working out where you were three hours ago.
How close do I need to be to make it ring, and how loud is it?
Bluetooth reaches up to 60 m / 200 ft for ringing the tag yourself, and it sounds at 80–100 dB. Further away than that, the Find My network keeps showing its last known position on the map instead.
